Description
Nucleus were a pioneering jazz-rock band from Britain who continued in different forms from 1969 to 1989. In their first year they won first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival, released the album Elastic Rock, and performed both at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Village Gate jazz club. They were led by Ian Carr, who had been in the Rendell-Carr Quintet during the mid and late 1960s, and was a respected figure in British jazz for more than forty years. Their jazz-based music evolved from an early sound incorporating elements of progressive and psychedelic rock toward combination with a funkier sound in the mid and late 1970s.
This is an original 1971 U.K. pressing on the Vertigo "Swirl" label, Cat No: 6360 027, of the group's 2nd album in a side-pocket die-cut gatefold sleeve.
GRADING.
SLEEVE:
THE GATEFOLD SLEEVE IS GENERALLY IN GOOD CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE. THERE IS A STICKER ON FRONT COVER WHICH WILL BE REMOVEABLE. SHOWING WEAR AROUND ALL THE SEAMS BUT NO SPLITTING AND INTACT. THE SPINE IS PARTICULARLY WORN BUT STILL READABLE. ALSO SOME LIGHT CREASING.
THE COMPANY INNER SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
RECORD:
THE VINYL HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED BUT WELL LOOKED AFTER AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. A FEW VERY LIGHT SURFACE MARKS ARE VISIBLE BUT DO NOT AFFECT PLAY. AGAIN VERY GOOD FOR IT'S AGE.
THE LABELS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, NO WRITING, NO MARKS, AND VERY LITTLE IN THE WAY OF SPINDLE WEAR.
