THE NUNS

JOEL RAPHAEL, PAT RYAN, ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO
Early San Francisco punk band formed in 1977 by Jeff Olener, Alejandro Escovedo and Jennifer Miro.
They gained popularity opening concerts for both The Sex Pistols and The Damned in the States.
The band released three 7" singles: "Savage/Decadent Jew/Suicide Child/" (1978),
"Media Control/The Beat" (1979) and "World War III/Cock In My Pocket" (1980).
The Nuns disbaned in 1980 and reunited shortly after to record their self-titled debut LP for Posh Boy,
which compiled all their classic anthems in more polished versions

Their first LP; great melodic weat coast punk again.
There's some rock/RnR influence but not of the cheesy kind, so it doesn't do much damage.
The songs are pretty diverse, not least because of the male/female singer combination;
not everything is straight rough punk rock, there are some (good) quieter songs, too.
An excellent album...(FLEX)
