ERIC DOLPHY LP OUT TO LUNCH (Blue Note Records 4163) Released 1964.
** Contains the Blue Note inner sleeve showing all the great Blue Note treasures of the day! **
Early mono pressing with "New York USA" printed on the classic blue & white label. "VAN GELFER" & Ear logo stamped in the dead wax to note that this mono pressing was mastered by a Mr. Rudy Van Gelder. Label is the vintage blue & white Deep Groove Blue Note W. 63rd St. label. Beautiful rich sepia-tone laminated cover from 1961 by photographer Reid Miles. The disc remains in pretty nice shape. Thick, well-made platter with rounded edge is constructed of high-quality raw materials.
Vintage Blue Note inner sleeve is in excellent condition. With vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, plus Richard Davis, Anthony Williams & Freddie Hubbard. "High Fidelity." (Etched Matrix number: "BNLP 4163 A/B VAN GELDER").
COVER - VG+
No seam splits or ring wear, with some faint rubbing. No creases, puncture holes, tears, writing or cut-out marks. The glossy spine looks quite nice & is all readable. The sepia-toned cover photo retains nice color & sheen. Moderate corner banging. Nice flat cover free of bends, bows, waves or ripples. Small price tag (half-inch) does not mar the back cover. Inner sleeve looks superb with no tears, creases or other marks. Label looks great with no marks, writing, cuts or stickers. Precisely-cut hole with some faint transparent spindle scuffs.
DISC - VG
A fair amount of faint scuffs & very brief light scratches. Play grading reveals a very low amount of background noise. Free of warping or residue on the disc or dead wax. Album has been stored upright in a climate-controlled environment.
