Nathan Milstein J.S. Bach Sonatas & Partitas For Solo Violin 3 LP DG 2709047 Box.
Deutsche Gramaphon three LP box set from 1975 . Milstien plays the solo sonatas and partitas by Bach. The box has the catalogue number 2709 047, and the records have the numbers 2530 417, 8, and 9. The runoff has 2530 417 ,S1=5 , 320 on the first Lp . The box and records are marked
made in (West) Germany
The records come with a booklet with information about the music and a conversation with Nathan Milstein.
The records are in excellent visual condition with no scratches or marks around the spindle holes. There is the odd finger mark and a bit of dust here and there as you would expect. Playing them reveals a bit of crackling, which gets less as the sides progress and record three has less than record one. I think most of this is due to dirt in the grooves, but I don't have any way of cleaning the records to tell for sure. Also, on the second play of record one, the noise was noticeably reduced from the first, so I think these would clean up nicely . All that being said whist the static is present. I could live with it, but I know that some of you want nothing other than the music, so I believe in giving the best description of the condition that I can.
