Description
Here we have one of the rarest and most coveted albums of the 1970s English Jazz Scene - Greek Variations & Other Aegean Exercises by Neil Ardley, Ian Carr and Don Rendell.
Released in 1970 as part of the Columbia Lansdowne series, this is an accomplished and beautiful work which sounds sublime. The low frequency is astonishing.
The matrix number is YAX 4047/4048-1U- see photos.
The record has been Degritter cleaned and the vinyl has come up spotless, sparkling and very glossy with no visible marks ( See photos). The labels and spindle holes are clean and the vinyl sits flat. We have graded NM.
The vinyl plays through beautifully and reveals an astonishingly wide and detailed soundscape, warm and bold. Every instrument has air and space - a wonderful recording. No playback issues.
The flipback laminate sleeve is strong and sturdy but with some light creasing and age discolouration. Slight corner rubbing beginning to show. No writing, stains, tape or tears. We have graded VG+ but this is close to EX.
The original printed inner sleeve is present, however we have placed the record into a new archival inner sleeve to keep it pristine, you will receive both.
Overall a very rare opportunity to own this beautiful album. We are also selling other Neil Ardley albums on separate listings.
