Description
Neil Young After the Goldrush - 1970 (1st?) US gatefold pressing - Exc. Condition. Sent with Australia Post Standard.
The album for sale is a USA gatefold pressing catalogue no. RS 6383, which I believe to be a 1st pressing (See discogs.com). I notice that at least one early pressing came with a poster. This album does not have one. I do not know if it's a version that came without, or if it has gone missing over the years. I have had this record in my collection for decades, but can't remember whether I purchased it new when released or not.
I have listened through both sides with headphones on and noticed only one click on side 1, and 3 clicks on side 2. I'd say it's close to VG+ on the Goldmine rating scale.
The cover is also in great condition. There is no ringwear, tears, stickers or writing. Having said that, it is nearly 50 years old, and does have some minor flaws - the most notable of which is what appears to be a manufacturing flaw, where the picture inside the gatefold was not glued to the cardboard surface properly. It's nothing dramatic in terms of the overall condition of the cover, but it is noticeable if you look.
Overall, a good offering for a low price, I think.
Records are sent in a double layer of rigid cardboard, with the vinyl external to the cover to minimise the risk of compression damage to the cover. A used plastic dust jacket is included.
