Talk about a RARE album, you found it. This is a copy of Neil Young's "Time Fades Away", but it is a MEGA-RARE MONO WHITE LABEL PROMO Vinyl copy, complete with lyric sheet. There are precious few of the WLP in Stereo, and even less of the Mono copies. I have been collecting vinyl since the '60's, and to this day I have not come across another one of these. The record is on Reprise, stock #M 2151, pressed in 1973. I don't recall seeing this on the regular Reprise release, but this copy says "This Recording Was Mastered 16-Track Direct To Disc by Computer - Aug. 22 & 23, 1973". The vinyl is a solid VG+; a few very light smudges but no scratches. A good cleaning should be all it needs to restore this record to it's original glory. I don't think that I played it more than a couple of times, and only took it out to show my friends the label and lyric sheet. The labels are pristine, and the gloss of the vinyl is superb. The cover has a gouge in the front on the lower right corner of about 1-1/4", and it continues as a 5" continuation scratch after the gouge (see pic). Luckily, the record was not in the sleeve when I did this many years ago. The cover has both the "MONO" and "Promotional Copy, Not For Sale" stickers on the front. There is a tiny bit of ringwear and light wear around the edges, but the graphics are great. The poster-sized lyric sheet is in great condition, too. This is a record that I really don't want to part with, but with a kid going to college soon I suppose I could pass it on to another fan who can appreciate this golden relic as much as I have for all these years. Overall, I give this LP a VG-/VG+/VG+ (cover/vinyl/lyric sheet)
