Record: Neil Young “Old Man's Fancy” Dragonfly Records. Nice gloss overall – Near MINT. No visible scratches or scuffs of any kind (that I can see). This is an original release, not a subsequent re-press, and is hard to find, especially in this condition. It plays really well (great sound quality). There is some minor surface background noises detectable to the run ins and quieter sections, which is fairly common on played records. Play tested using a high quality Linn turntable. The record has been stored in a plastic sleeve since I bought it on its release. It has then been stored in high quality flight cases since then.

Cover: The cover is in excellent condition. NO writing, NO barcode, No splits.

History: Neil Young & Crazy Horse went on the road in the U.S. in Nov 1976. This record was recorded at the LA Forum on 4th Nov 1976. It's a spirited performance before Young's adopted hometown crowd, which he urges on; the excitement is palpable. Typically, Young peppers his set with songs he has not yet recorded. "Like a Hurricane" (American Stars 'n Bars), "Campaigner," which leads off the nine-song acoustic set, would appear on Decade in 1977. "Human Highway" and "Lotte Love" would be on “Comes a Time” a couple of years later. "Pocahontas" would be on Rust Never Sleeps in 1979, "Too Far Gone" would have to wait for another decade and "Country Home" would never be released legitimately.

There are also 2 tracks from the Santa Monica Civic gig on 28th Aug 1976 with Spirit. This is the infamous Randy California incident. According to Jay Ferguson (vocals/percussion) he thought a permanent reunion was certainly possible, until the Neil Young incident during the Santa Monica concert. John Locke was very good friends with Neil, and his producer David Briggs. When Randy shoved a reportedly intoxicated Neil Young off stage during SPIRIT's encore, that was all for him. He reportedly left the stage screaming "I will never play with Randy again!!"
