Greetings All,
Up for auction is a fine example of Neil Young's magnum opus, "Tonight's The Night" Black Label Reprise MS2221 in solid VG+ condition, original first pressing with both the original inner sleeve and insert.
The record grades as VG+: Here and there, there are some very minor signs of wear and small scratches. Nothing that would affect play-ability and the record plays excellent period. No hum, skip, pop, or interruption to speak of. A rocking record from beginning to end. Lots of gloss beauty and life in this record. The vinyl has been cleaned and play-tested by me before listing. "Hello Waterface" and "Goodbye Waterface" etched into LP runout. Classic!
The insert and inner sleeve are in surprisingly good shape, almost perfect. Frankly as someone who as owned multiple copies of this record, this example by far has among the cleanest representation of the inner sleeve and insert that I have seen from a copy first-hand. Beautiful and intact with very, very light wear (one small crease in a corner of the insert and one noticeable crease in lower left corner of inner sleeve). Will house the LP in a complimentary high-quality poly-inner sleeve along with the original inner sleeve and insert.
The album cover jacket rates as VG+/EX: Amazing dark still in the black color on this blotter paper LP. Much cleaner than many original examples that either fade or get worn all over the edges. There are slight signs of wear. However, the starkness of the black and almost exemplary shape of the jacket with exception of small blemishes puts it close to an EX rating. The gatefold photo/photo foldout of LP with Neil in Cafe is stunning. Also among the cleanest I have seen in this regard, looks crisp and practically new. No spotting or alterations whatsoever.
