Description
This stereo self-titled LP, with its striking cover artwork, was the first solo album from NEIL YOUNG after he left Buffalo Springfield, and was released in the UK in 1968 on the Reprise label (K 44059). This is a first pressing. Tracks are as follows:
Side One: The Emperor of Wyoming / The Loner / If I Could Have Her Tonight / I've Been Waiting For You / The Old Laughing Lady Side Two: String Quartet from Whiskey Boot Hill / Here We Are In The Years / What Did You Do To My Life / I've Loved Her So Long / The Last Trip To Tulsa
The album was produced by Young, David Briggs, and Jack Nietsche, who was responsible for the ethereal string arrangements that help give the record its haunting, melancholy feel. Frustrated by the record's initial lack of success, Young went back into the studio some months later to add extra overdubs and remix the album for later US pressings, presumably in an attempt to make it more 'FM radio-friendly'; please note that this UK release is the original, superior mix.
Condition is EX (vinyl and sleeve). The record has clearly been little played, the vinyl is utterly pristine, and there are no tears, writing, scuffs or folds on the sleeve, just very slight ringwear commensurate with age. If any marks appear in my pics of the shiny vinyl, rest assured they are merely camera light reflections.
Item will be safely packaged in a heavy-duty virgin custom LP mailer with stiffener, and promptly dispatched via Royal Mail.
