Full length version 2012 of New Order’s “Elegia” for the first time on vinyl. This is quite a collectors item. The Low Life version was an edit and the only previous release of the full 18-minute track was on the rare 5th disc of the 2002 box set Retro (turns out it’s also on the bonus disc of the 2008 Low Life CD remaster). Hearing it for the first time is chilling, as each part has more room to breathe. Composed as a lament for Ian Curtis, this is New Order at their most dramatically epic. Fans should pick up the vinyl as it’s long out of print. The package is completed with two b-sides: the excellent live-to-tape Peel Session version of “5-8-6? and another song dedicated to Curtis, Movement‘s “The Him”
