Description

Brand new, sealed, out of print boxset for the excellent 1982 film The Thing by Ennio Morricone / John Carpenter. This is the limited edition box set purchased directly from Sacred Bones Records earlier this year that sold out and was limited to only 3000 copies worldwide. The set/box is in excellent condition but there is a crease on the one side of the box but nothing too significant (please see pictures). This set will be carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery within Canada and the US and will be shipped with tracking. 
**NOTE** : The pictures listed showing the actual vinyl records themselves (contents of the boxset) were taken from the official Waxwork Records site only to show what the records themselves look like as this is a brand new/sealed box. Only the pictures showing the exterior front, back and sides were taken by us.

Limited Edition Bundle including John Carpenter's THE THING Original Motion Picture Score By Ennio Morricone and LOST CUES: THE THING By John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies housed in a slipcase featuring new artwork by Phantom City Creative.

Features the complete, original 1982 score by Ennio Morricone re-mastered from the original master tapes, 180 Gram “Blood Sample” colored vinyl, artwork by Phantom City Creative, deluxe heavyweight packaging including satin coated old-style gatefold jackets with UV spot-gloss, and an an 11” x 17” poster.

Also includes LOST CUES: THE THING.

Composed and performed by director John Carpenter, LOST CUES: THE THING features unreleased musical cues from the 1982 alien-horror movie masterpiece, THE THING

Waxwork Records teamed with Sacred Bones Records, approached John Carpenter about a release of this music, and he graciously agreed to faithfully perform and record the tracks for a special vinyl 12” EP featuring his son, Cody Carpenter, and the outstanding multi-instrumentalist and co-collaborator Daniel Davies.

“Ennio Morricone composed the magnificent score for my movie THE THING. Because we weren’t finished editing the movie, Ennio had to score without seeing a complete picture. When we put everything together, there were gaps dramatically where I would have wanted music. So I went off and scored a couple of simple pieces that filled in.” - John Carpenter
