Description

"The Last Train of the Night" is a 1975 thriller film directed by Aldo Lado, one of the most violent films ever produced in Italy in the 70s (and beyond) which actually shows, even in the crudest scenes, by the director's own admission, a harsh attack on bourgeois society and the holders of power.

Despite the limited budget, the friendship that bound the director to the composer Ennio Morricone also made this collaboration possible, the fruits of which, however, were almost completely 'obscured' at the time as only a 45 rpm single was released with the songs "Coincidenze" and a 'medley' version of "The last train of the night" with the rattling of the train on the tracks in the background, while the song "A Flower's All You Need" sung by Demis Roussos of Aphrodite's Child was printed on a rare Japanese 7". These tracks are all present in this exclusive edition of the soundtrack made by Morricone, along with the other numerous versions of the main theme of the film, characterized by a central part full of tension, rhythmic and with echoes of the legendary theme of "Investigation of a citizen above suspicion". The notes of "Coincidences" are just as worthy of the best Italian detective stories, while the theme "Solitude" adds feelings of sadness and melancholy. Franco De Gemini's harmonica also reminds us that films of this genre are practically westerns set in modern eras and contexts.

Yet another exceptional work by the Maestro, released for the first time in LP format, with gatefold cover and yellow vinyl!
