Description

British 1st release of the landmark original soundtrack to 'Waterloo' (1971, dir. Sergei Bondarchuk), composed by Nino Rota.
Front cover design features a superb reworking of the original film poster artwork.

The epic historical film starred Rod Steiger as Napoleon Bonaparte and Christopher Plummer as the Duke of Wellington with a cameo by Orson Welles as Louis XVIII of France. Other stars included Jack Hawkins as General Thomas Picton, Virginia McKenna as the Duchess of Richmond and Dan O'Herlihy as Marshal Ney.

Nino Rota ?– Waterloo (Original Soundtrack Recording) LP (1971)

Condition (refer also to notes at bottom):
VINYL: VG. Looks superbly clean on visual inspection. No scuffs, hairlines marks on either side – and no deep scratches. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is very good throughout. Mild static/crackling at run-ins and surface noise in places and during quieter cues/fadeouts but orchestrals and brass sound great. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. An enjoyable listen.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: VG+. Colours clear and unfaded on superb laminated front. Curved creases, and creasing in from spine. Diagonal creases in bottom right. Edges unworn, spine in great shape with just one or creases/splits. Corners have mild scuffs and aperture lightly dogeared. Back of sleeve has faint yellowing around edges. All flipbacks attached with just a few creases and inner band of soiling on each. Overall a nice example of this epic soundtrack release.
INNER SLEEVE: EX. Original off-white sleeve with angled corners. Light crinkling and creases but clean and intact.

ITEM CONDITION - items are graded according to Record Collector definitions - see below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
