Description
One of English folk's veteran heroes Shirley Collins recorded No Roses in 1971 with the cream of the folk scene in support, from Watersons Lal and Mike to Richard Thompson and Maddy Prior, Ashley Hutchings and Lol Coxhill to sister Dolly Collins, Nic Jones, Ashley Hutchings and Barry Dransfield. Just read the front cover line-up.
The best news is that this is a genuine UK 1st press piece of vinyl on the Pegasus label (PEG-7) which plays really nicely. There are plenty of surface hairlines but nothing nasty and nothing that detracts from the audio. The original Pegasus labels are in lovely condition.
It should be pointed out that the sleeve is not the gatefold first edition sleeve, but the later single sleeve version (from the 1976 Crest reissue). However it's in excellent order with barely any wear, just a small ink mark at the bottom of the opening edge.
Nice poly lined white inner sleeve.
Timeless music and a really nice listening copy. Priced sensibly to sell!
