Description

I have resolved to recommence selling my treasured soul vinyl collection (very reluctantly), which is sizeable so I guess I’ll be around on eBAY for a while. I will endeavour to provide an honest and accurate assessment in terms of descriptions, but will be happy to consider a full refund in the event of any valid dissatisfaction. Where possible I prefer not to use the familiar record grading guide (such as VG etc) because they seem to offer little explanation and favour a seller’s perspective  – previous feedback suggests you’ll find the record is better than described.

They’re all in polythene-lined cardboard sleeves (with the exception of picture covers). I may have the original sleeve but please bid as though I haven’t. I’m well out of touch with the northern scene and will be largely guided by other sellers as regards what will be auctioned. Many of the records have my name written on the label (I know!) but all those years ago – longer than I care to remember – there was NO chance of me EVER selling them!

I don’t want to get into leaving rigid or abrasive terms and conditions although I have discovered why some sellers get frustrated into doing so. Therefore, if you like to leave it a few days before paying / communicating, please don’t bid. I’m not a dealer and it’s difficult enough having to part with them (I despatch very quickly …. once they’re no longer mine I just want shot of ‘em!)

Please clarify any uncertainty about an item BEFORE bidding, particularly if you’re seeking to buy only original copies of records (you’re probably more likely to know than me!). I will only post items on a recorded / signed-for basis – please don’t bid if you prefer to chance standard postage …. I won’t!

I will post worldwide. Please contact me regarding postal cost if you are an overseas bidder. Many thanks.

I’m currently selling in multiples, some by label, some by artist and some assorted. However, some of my highly valued buyers clearly still only want to purchase singles (I can’t seem to get the balance right!), therefore I’ll be selling individual records as well.

I prefer PayPal but will accept personal cheques. I will also combine postage with the exception of the 15 x ‘no nonsense’ packs (i.e just on multiple purchase of singles)

The records in this batch are all in outstanding condition unless otherwise stated:

The Emotions – I Can’t Stand No More Heartaches – Brainstorm (This

captures the sound of The Torch for me and barely a blemish)

Richard ‘Popcorn’ Wylie – Rosemary What Happened / Inst (missing

      centre)

Tony Clarke – Landslide / The Entertainer (classic double-sider)

Lenis Guess – Just Ask Me / Workin' For My Baby – SPQR

The Detroit Shakers – Help Me Find My Way / Same – Counsel (slight

background hiss on ticked side and worse background hiss on the

      other side)

The Guys From Uncle – The Spy – Swan Demo (near mint. Hardly

      played and gleaming)

Boby Franklin – The Ladies Choice / Inst – Fee (the vocal has a

momentary hiss right at the start for about one second … barely

      worth mentioning)

Lee Dorsey – Ride Your Pony – Stateside 441 (some fine insignificant

scuffs and possibly very very fine background crackle …. again this

is my over critical ear – it sounds fine)

Robert Knight – Everlasting Love – Monument (near mint. Hardly

      played and gleaming)

The Love Affair – Bringing On Back The Good Times – CBS (very fine

scuffs and a couple of faint ‘clicks’ at the start. The only writing on

this label is a very small ‘s’ in the middle, which I can’t explain!!

Lost Generation – You’re So Young But You’re So True / The Sly, Slick

And The Wicked – Brunswick (near mint – hardly played)

Roger Collins – You Sexy Sugar Plumb – Fantasy

Andre Brasseur – The Kid – CBS

Van McCoy – Sweet And Easy – Share (some insignificant scuffs and

possibly one faint ‘click’ at the start – it sounds fine)

The Temprees – At Last – We Produce (there is a visible and audible

deterioration in the vinyl. That said it plays ok)

Apologies for the now familiar inept photography – shouldn’t be allowed near a camera!
