NO RESERVE!!!

Up for bids is the Northern Soul single “Don't Leave” b/w “How's About It, Baby?” by Bobby Samson and the Maus-Makers on the Sublime Label!

This single is a mellower side of blue-eyed soul from a UK artist in the late 60s; this pressing is on the US-based Sublime label (not Acta), with a simple promo record sleeve (white).  The playing condition of the single being offered in this auction is NEAR MINT, the visual condition is glossy with the original finish - a few very light scuff marks from storage are apparent (under strong light) on the out-groove but do not affect play. The standards of grading are based on Goldmine criteria.

The audio sample for this auction will be posted by the end of Wednesday (C.S.T.), since I won't have access to my Stanton USB turntable until then. This single looks as if it has never been played.

I was lucky enough to find a box of Northern Soul/Psych/Rock singles that included a group of smaller labels from roughly the same time frame (Impact, Revue, Bell, etc).  Since the other labels are also in Near Mint condition, I believe these were kept by a regional A&R man and stored away for more than 40 years as a special collection of leftovers -- especially with the even mix of promo/DJ and conventional copies.

The audio sample for this auction was recorded using a Stanton T.90 USB turntable with Audacity software; the sound has not been altered except for length.

There are three light clicks between the 7th and 9th seconds of the first track not noticed until playback on Audacity -- the cause seems to be a speck-sized irregularity in the record itself. As the sample is pretty raw and without equalization, the sound overall is still very clean....
