Description
This one is for collectors of British Northern Soul and in particular the extremely rare TRACK label. This is a very nice and extremeley rare stamped original from 1967 in excellent condition by Al Kent on Track 604016. Run out is stamped '604016' and also has scratched in 'KU1' and heavily stamped in '1'. Titles are "You've got to pay the price" backed with "Where do I go from here". This is the very rare "Die Cut" issue with small hole and three prongs and not the more common "solid" centre with small hole and this is the only one of this type I have ever seen and have never seen one being sold on Ebay.
Even after Motown had bought Ric Tic, the deal with Polydor was that they could retain the right to release Ric Tic tracks until 1970. This is one of the very few they did on the TRACK label and there were very few sold and so it is rare.
If you just want a copy of these titles from Al Kent on the Ric Tic releases then don't bid on this one, as these two tracks are readily available on RIC TIC at low prices. This issue is for Northern Soul British label connoisseurs and TRACK label collectors.
For the sake of conservatism I will grade this VG+++. Vinyl both sides play excellently and will please the most discerning of Northern Soul fans. Labels both sides have no stickers, no writing, no marks, see scan.
