OASIS - PRECREATION BLUES ON 12" VINYL LP
On vinyl here is the original demo tapes that brought Oasis into the eye of the storm and to the attention of Mr Alan McGee way back in 1993.
The seeds of the ideas were ready forming when a copy of these tunes (appaerently only a handful were made with this fantastic artwork, more of which later) were given to Mr Alan McGee at Glasgow's King Tut's Wah Hut.
This is the exact order that the songs ran, which is interesting in itself. As time would tell us some of the songs further down the running order would grow in stature more than others. Included here here we also find an up until now unreleased song 'Strange Thing' that with the tests of time has ended up on the Rock N Roll cutting floor.
Back in 1993 this is what the boys had to offer and this is the way they wanted their songs to be heard.
Artwork again as time will tell us would prove an integral part of the bands image and this early creation will only go to prove this point. A Noel Gallagher concept of a Union Jack flag in a vortex apparently going down a plug hole. Instructions were given to friend and conspirator Tony French to include a plug hole at it's centre. But like all beautiful accidents this was forgotten but really helped the final artwork when the bands name was finally layed across the front. Really iconic stuff that adds to the full picture and to the bands history.
Enjoy what could have been Oasis first album, the way the band would have liked you to hear and see it. If nothing else this version should ride shotgun alongside it's final version.
Or in the mighty words that were said at the time to a Creation employee when asked the possible offending artwork, the reply was swift from Mr Liam Gallagher "It's the greatest flag in the world and it's going down the shi**er, we're here to do something about it" ............ and didn't they just.........
