YEAR OF RELEASE: 1975
PRESSED IN: AUSTRALIA .
The story goes like this...in 1980 (or was it '81..??), parent company Festival Records decided to honour ONJ for some landmark moment (and I can't remember precisely what it was - sorry) by issuing this LP on red vinyl (as well as the second 'Hits' volume on a different coloured vinyl). For some unknown-to-me reason, the idea was discarded after the records has been pressed (500 of each were made...all this info taken from a contact of mine at the pressing plant, within Festival, back then, but with time, some of it's become a bit hazy)...anyway it was deemed that all were to be destroyed, but I was given 15 of these, by that contact, out of that 500, and all the remainder were then melted down. Unfortunately I never got any of the "Great Hits Vol.2" LP, nor have ever seen one. Anyway, this is the very last one of these I have, as I let the others trickle out over the years, and about 10 years ago got down to this last one. Time to let go, however.
Needless to say, it's STUPIDLY rare!
