OMD - MEGA RARE - Telegraph b/w OMD Meets VW
Zimbabwe Pressed 7" Single !!!
This is possibly one of the RAREST of the many commercially released OMD 7" Singles I have sold on Ebay. It is very RARE and hard find in South Africa (inpossible now in Zimbabwe because of the goings on there) so even RARER in the UK.
OMD ZIMBABWE PRESSINGS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. THEY WERE MADE FOR THE MAINLY EUROPEAN POPULATION THEN RE-CYCLED AGAIN DUE TO VINYL SHORTAGES. ONLY A FEW HUNDRED COPIES WERE PRESSED OF THIS DISC!
Issued on the VIRGIN Record label in Zimbabwe (and pressed on here on an exclusive white Virgin Zimbabwe only label!). The disc is housed in a 'wallpaper' Sleeve (made typically of re-cycled paper). The Catalogue Number is VS 54.
What makes this release interesting is the version of Telegraph on this disc. I have never heard this version. I consider myself to be an OMD fan and collector and it's certainly not the UK 7" version on here. Also, what is the B-Side? Again, different to the UK issue and most, if not all releases of this single throughout the world, it's entitled 'OMD Meets VW'!!
To confirm the tracks on this 7" Single are:- Telegraph (2.56) & OMD Meets VM (6.40).
To make this even more collectable the following note has been written on the A-Side label by Virgin in Zimbabwe when sending it to the local Radio Station... 'Would Greatly Appreciate Airplay & Possibly 2Coke2 Review. To Be Released 23rd March, Thanks, Ralph'.
OMD has also been spelt incorrectly on the label... spelt as 'Orchestral Manevers In The Dark'.
The Vinyl is in Excellent condition. The wallpaper sleeve is also in Excellent condition.
Crazy starting price of under a tenner with no reserve!!!
You may never see this Zimbabwe pressing again, certainly not in this condition so grab it while you can!
