PHOTO DETAILS Mega rare vinyl album from legendary hip-hop crew Onyx, who come fresh with this 1998 release Shut 'Em Down!!! From the opening track, Onyx immediately show that their trademark hardcore rap style is still in full effect here, bursting into such bangers as "Raze It Up", "Street N*ggaz", and the title track "Shut 'Em Down" with DMX right off the bat. Hard lyrical flows prevail throughout over incredible production work from the likes of DJ Scratch, Self, Budda, Lateif, Onyx themselves, and more, as Fredro, Sticky, and Sonsee verbally put the mic on lock and definitely shut things down. Collaborations are purposely kept to a minimum, yet near the end of the album some dope guest spots are included from All City, Lost Boyz, Wu-Tang Clan, Noreaga, and Big Pun, showing just the types of big names that recognize the legacy of the Onyx crew. Essentially there are no weak tracks here, but heaters like "React", "F*ck Dat", "The Worst", and my personal favorite "Veronica" all lead the way as all-time NYC classics. Definitely a must-have album for any true DJ or hip-hop fan out there... so grab it now!!!Released in 1998, this album is now long out of print and is impossible to find on vinyl these days.
