ORCHESTRA MAMBO INTERNATIONAL

Mi Mambo

Echo Lab

limited 7" Cat: EL 002
Rel: 8 Sep 25
International Side 1. Mi Mambo Side 2. Mi Mambo (Cheeba Latin Bros mix)

Orchestra Mambo International bring their pan-Latin flair to the floor once more. The group - featuring musicians from Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Spain and the UK - draw on the legacy of Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri while shaping something fresh for today's dancers. The original track 'Mi Mambo' is a joyous surge of Afro-Cuban rhythm and brass, rooted in tradition yet delivered with modern punch. It's the kind of tune that can slip between a jazz stepper's set and a salsa session with equal ease. On the flip, the Cheeba Latin Bros stretch it into a floor-primed workout, emphasising percussion and groove. A sharp, contemporary take on mambo's timeless drive.
