Description

This is an original vinyl LP from the Beatles, RUBBER SOUL from 1965.  It is a "High Fidelity Recording" while the back cover announces that it is also available in stereo. Under the heading (on the rainbow label), each Beatle is credited separately rather than as "The Beatles."
It is T 2442, recorded at plant 3 (to the left of the RIAA logo). On the bottom of the back cover, it says, "This monographic microgroove recording is playable on monophonic and stereo phonographs. It cannot become obsolete. It will continue to be a source of outstanding sound reproduction, providing the finest monophonic performance from any phonograph." [We love the, "It cannot become obsolete."]
The inside paper liner is interesting: it is green and has promo ads for other Capitol records of the time. It has some small tears just beginning on sides.  The cover is mild to moderately scuffed, but no major problems.
From Wikipedia: "Rubber Soul is regarded as one of the greatest albums in popular music history. In 2012, Rubber Soul was ranked number five on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". In 2013, after the British Phonographic Industry changed their sales award rules, the album was declared as having gone platinum."
This cover has lettering in BROWN. Wikipedia explains, "Capitol Records used a different colour saturation for the US version, causing the orange lettering used by Parlophone Records to show up as different colours. On some Capitol LPs, the title looks rich chocolate brown; others, more like gold. On the 1987 compact disc reissue, the letters appear a distinct green, and the 2009 reissue uses the original cover design with the Parlophone Records logo."
Remember, we are auctioning the original MONO version. Wikipedia explains that the stereo mix is somewhat different.
This was my very own, original album. Yes, it is used, of course, but it looks to be in good condition. We can't play it to check, but it looks great and we will certainly guarantee it plays.
We will be putting up a great deal of our own, personal Beatles memorabilia, so please look at our other auctions and check back often because it might take a little while to get the items listed. Thanks!
