Here's the scoop:
This album is from my parents' collection (they're in their 80's). My dad loved Johnny Cash. My mom didn't like Johnny Cash. That meant my dad wasn't allowed to play Johnny Cash on the stereo, because it was in the living room and my mother would hear it (that's the way she is). This didn't stop him from buying albums, but I never saw my dad play a record or listen to music in the house.
I'm quite certain this album was never played. If it was, maybe one or two times - but I doubt even that. The record itself looks pristine.
It's a 33 rpm album. Number in the wax is: XSM136060-1E.
I see absolutely no scratches or damage to the record. It's perfect or near perfect.
The album cover has normal, age-appropriate wear. It was stored in my parents record cabinet since it was purchased. One corner has a slight crumple to it - see photo.
EVEN HAS THE ORIGINAL SLEEVE WITH ADVERTISING FOR OTHER COLUMBIA RECORDS OF THE TIME!
I don't see a date on the album or album jacket - I Google'd the album release date and got 1968. Given the other albums promoted on the sleeve and knowing my dad didn't buy albums since probably 1970-ish, I'm confident this is an early copy.
