Up for grabs is this really unusual record which i guess is well over 100 years old...an original single sided 17.5cm (just under 7 inch) Gramophone & Typewriter LTD and Sister Companies Gramophone disc (78rpm) titled My Latchkey sung by Mr George Lashwood , London serial number 3-2605....Gold and Black paper label with scratched in number 1001e possibly G ? and stamped on the inside edge of the record 1001d 3-2605..... on the back of the disc is the Gramophone Company logo with cherub design and reproduced in hanover stamp.
Please note that the flash affected the photo as the disc is quite shiny so the disc looks much better in real life.
I guess that these particular types of discs are now fairly rare to find , i'm not really quite sure of the exact age of it but guess its late victorian or early 20th century....please check out my other auctions as i have 17 different discs to list similar to this on various labels and i will also be listing an original oak carrying case which is designed to hold this particular size of disc....the case is made by the Gramophone Company.
Size of the disc is 17.5cm (just under 7 inches).
Condition considering its great age is very good , i haven't played it so i have no idea what it sounds like or if it will play at all ?....there are no cracks and no chips , few small surface scratches which i guess is to be expected.....the outer edge has one very tiny indentation to it which is possibly a manufacturing defect ....the record looks very very slightly warped but really not seriously so and i don't think that would affect play and again possibly a manufacturing defect so please take note of all of the above points before you bid and buy.
I have described the record as accurately as possible but if you have any more questions please email....i'm affraid i don't know a great deal about these particular types of records as i have never come across any before , just something i aquired a few years ago in a job lot of records i bought and i thought the case and discs looked interesting so i stored them.
Postage is only estimated for signed for and insured so please do not pay until i send you your invoice through as none of the records are packed and weighed yet but if you happen to overpay i always send refunds through paypal....i may decide to send by ordinary 2nd class as that is insured for up to £20 anyway.....it will be very well packed so i'm sure will arrive safely.

A genuine and i guess rare type of record listed with no reserve now looking for a new home.
