Description

Original vintage 1943 Decca Album No. 359 original selections from The Theatre Guild musical play OKLAHOMA!   Music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.  Featuring members of the original New York Production: Alfred Drake, Joan Roberts, Howard da Silva, Celeste Holm, Lee Dixon with orchestra and chorus directed by Jay Blackton.  This six (6) disc album is accompanied by a Souvenir Book of the special 1944 Pulitzer Prize awarded to Rodgers and Hammerstein for Oklahoma! 17 page booklet with chapters for Story of Oklahoma!, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, Rouben Mamoulian, Agnes de Mille, Meet the Company (stage appearances), and more.

The six (6) discs are all in good condition, finding some with loss of luster that did not affect ability to play.  All were tested just prior to this auction to confirm play without skips or imperfections that fail to track through; however we are not qualified to judge audio quality of this vintage as you would experience on your equipment.

The cover has some shelf wear and edge wear consistent with its age.  There is a very small fray portion at very top edge of spine and small tears at lower edge of spine (see photo), but otherwise fully intact with firm binding and spine.  Please zoom in on photos to judge condition.  The photos are of the actual item you will receive (not a stock photo).  You are buying vintage records and cover in “As-Is” condition, from a family collection shelved upright in a non-smoking home.

Please message any questions you may have prior to bidding.  Thank you for your interest!
