Description
This is a rare recording of the Chicago area band The Heard. This was recorded in 1967 on the Orlyn label.
One reason that this label was so rare was that the label sponsored Chicago-area "battle of the bands" in which the winner would receive "free" studio time. The catch was that the band would have to pay for the record pressing. Consequently, only a relatively small amount of records were released, often to relatives and friends. I believe that this was the only record recorded by this band.
The two songs featured are "Where Has My Summer Gone" & "Poppies". The former is haunting and melancholic while
"Poppies" is upbeat with a very strong resemblance to "Gloria".
I'm grading this 45 as G+/VG. There are numerous scratches, but the record sounds better than it looks. I played this on a high quality system, and the sound quality was decent.
Please note that the original owner added his address label to one side. I've covered this up in the photo.
