Description
This is the Verve CLEF Series vinyl LP release in 1957 of The Oscar Peterson Trio at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival (MGV-8082). This LIVE recording is an outstanding listen to these amazing jazz artists before a live and highly enthusiastic audience. The jacket liner notes were written by Oscar himself where he acknowledges the superb talents of his accompanists Ray Brown on Bass and Herb Ellis Guitar. This is a must collection addition have for the Jazz fan who appreciates the vinyl format.
The shiny MICROGROOVE vinyl shows it has had normal past play, particularly evident with the spindle marks. This vinyl has been test played throughout (both sides) and simply produces a very enjoyable listening experience without skips, pops or other distractions. The vinyl is rated VG+ to EX as to overall condition. The outer jacket with awesome action photo by Chuck Stewart, is in nice condition but does has a 5" seam split a top edge where record is inserted and a 3" split starting at opposite side of the top edge. The side seam is printing is completely legible. In summation, we have a very nice and substantial jacket certainly worthy of being framed for those so inclined. This jacket warrants a VG to VG+ as to overall condition. This vinyl comes within a padded inner sleeve and new slip-on poly outer sleeve are included got help pressure de this gem for another 60+ years and then some.
