Description
OTHER HALF:same (7/2 - 1966)
Hyper super ultra rare slab of vinyl from frat band attending The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania in the mid 60s. A couple of members had been previously in The Half Tribe, who put out an equally rare album. The LP is primarily cover versions, but there are two excellent originals which were also released as a 45. (Anybody got a copy of that to offer?) The songs are raw and cool with the requsite smattering of Stones' covers, including a banger of a Satisfaction with a fuzz pedal that's so sick it sounds like it's on life support.
This is an original copy with the album opening on the left side of the cover. The front and back both have paste-on slicks which are almost the same size as the cover. There is no printing or writing on the spine.
This LP is listed as an R4 rarity in Fuzz, Acid & Flowers. For garage/frat fans, this would be at least an R5.
The cover is VG minus. There are numerous tape stains on both sides, as is visible in the photos. There is about a 2 1/2 " split on the lower seam near the opening. There are a couple of splits on the spine. There is wear along the spine and both seams. There is some scratching on the front cover (visible in the center of the photo). There is some tearing along the back cover near the opening (very slight).
The labels are fairly clean, but there is slight tearing around the hole on Side 1 (see scan). Side 1 looks and plays VG minus. There are a lot of small scuff lines and a few heavier marks that don't break the surface of the vinyl. There is light intermittent crackling throughout the side, which gets a little louder on song 5. There is a scratch (not too deep) through the second half of the last song; this causes only some light irregular pops. The beginning of the 4th song has a few clicks at the beginning from a tiny scratch or object in the vinyl . Side 2 looks and plays VG. There are a good amount of light scuff lines and a few heavier marks, but no scratches. There is intermittent light crackling throughout the side (though less pronounced than on Side 1). There are about a dozen light clicks through the 1st song, and a few clicks on songs 2 & 6.
