Description

Mega rare Columbia SAX 2446-50 on original Blue/Silver labels. Bach - St. Matthew Passion - Dietrich Fisch-Dieskau - Peter Pears - Elisabeth Schwarzkopf - Christa Ludwig - Nicolai Gedda - Walter Berry - John Carol Case - Otakar Kraus - Janet Baker - Geraint Evans - Helen Watts - Wilfred Brown - The Philharmonia Choir - Wilhelm Pitz (Chorus Master) - The Philharmonia Orchestra - Otto Klemperer. 
Sleeve condition VG++ - One corner has split otherwise very nice all around condition.
Original insert in VG++ - Small spots of aging on back cover, otherwise mint
Records: Disc 1 - VG++ minor scratches present, handling marks Disc 2 - VG++ minor scratches present, handling marks Disc 3 - VG+ minor scratches present, 2 bigger scratches, but none deep Disc 4 - VG++ minor scratches present, handling marks Disc 5 -  VG++ minor scratches present, handling marks
All labels excellent, original sleeves present. 

Visual Grading

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

+/- - minor positives or minuses either way to more accurately reflect condition
