Volume 1 covers Cuba and Puerto Rico with images of ordinary life of the citizens, housing, other structures, landscape, churches and missions, US Military (Cavalry w/ horses) and much more.

Volume 2 continues the exploration of Puerto Rico and delves into Hawaii and the Philippines. Includes photos of Hawaiian royalty, their homes, ordinary citizens, housing and other structures, landscapes of rivers and mountains.

Author:  Introduction by Major General Joseph Wheeler US Army and descriptive matter and narratives by Jose De Olivares, a noted turn of the century war correspondent. The two volumes were then edited by William S. Bryan.

1200 photographs by Walter B. Townsend, Albert E. Fout, Geo. C. Dotter, and others. Superbly illustrated with more than 12 hundred photographs, special tissue covered full sized colortypes, and new colored maps
