Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For all practical purposes this is actually a prized 1960s collection of works by the Animals and their lead singer Eric Burdon. The selected song selection is fantastic when over-viewing the Animal;s psychedelic period, arguably their strongest era. Yes while these recordings all come from Burdon's psychedelicized period, drugs certyainly enhanced his flair in penning the praises of Monterey Pop Festival ("Monterey," number 15) and San Francisco ("San Franciscan Nights," number nine). Though Sometimes forgotten, included here, their other Top 40 hit being the antiwar epic "Sky Pilot" (number 15), in its full seven-and-a-half-minute glory. All that said the crowning achievement could potentially be the acid nuggets "When I Was Young" a fantastic slice of sheer electricity (holds up to this very moment - not easily available on other regular Animals'60s albums) and the hymn to LSD "Girl Named SANDOZ" ....Burdon had certainly come a long way from his Manchester roots and his blues records, and this was THEE ALBUM depicting his second phase; in fact, the New Animals had split by the time it was released

Thios album overviews in splendid glory Eric Burdon and the Animals, who were Eric on captivating vocals,, drummer Barry Jenkins, John Weider (guitar/violin/bass), Vic Briggs (guitar/piano), and Danny McCullough (bass). The group's first San Fran single, a psychedelically influenced (with its touches of sitar) "When I Was Young"peaked at #15 on Billboard's Hot 100 and just made the last slot in Britain's Top 40. That 45's flipside is "A Girl Named Sandoz" is equally as powerful and both tracks are a might double-header that open the 1967 MGM LP entitled, ERIC BURDON AND THE ANIMALS VOL. II (E/SE-4454).

"Don't Bring Me Down" was a US #12 and UK #6 in 1966. "Cheating" is that single's 'B' Side. That same year, "See See Rider" made the #10 spot in America but didn't chart in Britain. "She'll Return It" is this single's flip. Again in '66, "Help Me Girl" reached #14 on the UK charts and was #29 in the US. Its 'B' Side is "That Ain't Where It's At."

"You're On My Mind " and "The Other Side of This Life" are ANIMALISM tracks. In 1967, the latter was the 'B' of the "It's All Meat" single. "Hey Gyp" was title track on a French EP.
