Description
Only ever played once or maybe twice (to record to tape) so sides 2, 3 and 4 of the vinyl are in very good to excellent condition. The last song on side one "Live Forever" has light scratches all the way around caused by incorrect cleaning. I have played it on a USB turntable (through a decent amp) and can't hear any distortion, but it is a very loud song anyway and I suspect that any clicking or crackling is being drowned out by the song. I can hear a slight clicking as the song fades and the side ends but that is all. A better record deck may pick up some distortion but to my ears it sounds fine.
I did have this up as buy it now until I noticed the scratches so I'm relisting it as an auction with a better description so it finds its own market value.
Apparently there are two UK 1st pressings - this is the DAMONT one and has that word etched into the vinyl on all four sides. I bought it the day it came out from a small independent record shop so I think it may be the earlier pressing.
I grade pessimisticly using record collector gradings so by their standards:
Front and gatefold VG (VG = Very Good: Normal wear and tear on cover or contents, without any major defects)
Back cover Fair (Fair: Cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.) – there’s a slight tear on the back cover (just above bonehead on picture 7) so I have to say Fair.
Side one Gd+ (Gd+ = Better than Good: Sound quality has deteriorated but with no distortion. Light scratches and occasional mild scratch) as described above.
Sides 2,3 and 4 Ex (Ex = Excellent: Shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening in sound quality).
I can only post next day delivery, for insurance reasons. I will post to Europe, price on asking.
1p starting bid, good luck, ends on Friday 24th.
Just a note about postage, if it goes for less than £50 then I can post it 2nd class signed for instead for a fiver. I'll only insist on next day delivery if it goes over £50.
