Comments: Houston, TX singer discovered by Huey P. Meaux and who passed away about a year ago. This was his debut 45 with two stylistically opposed but great sides. A-side carries a fine-tuned teen ballad. The excellent production, with a fully arranged, but still restrained, backing let’s this Gene Piteny like singer shine to his fullest. B-side is a mid- to up-tempo teen garage rocker complete with a farfisa organ solo.
Manship has the B-side listed as the A-side and describes it as follows: “Strong R&B style Northern Soul dancer that just never turns up, even though it’s on a well distributed label.”
