Description
This album consists of very traditional string music originating from the Appalachian mountain areas, though information included in the accompanying booklet mentions that the actual recordings took place in various studio settings. The booklet is very detailed as to the compositions of each song and the five players who made up the band. The record is from my private collection and has been stored and shelved for the past fifty years. The disc is in prime condition and plays flawlessly on my Pioneer turntable. The material chosen by Folkways for the cover unfortunately has not been spared the ravages of time and climate. It hold smudges of grime that are difficult to remove as the paper shreds with any use of a sponge to clean it. The cover is also warped, especially at the opening edge. So in all honesty the cover is in rather desperate shape, though it is intact and displays only a little separation along the bottom seam. The booklet is in good condition, though it is possible for a person to detect a hint of odor, otherwise it is good with photos and text. Shipped same or next day in lp mailer for secure receipt.
