THE BLUES AND THE ABSTRACT TRUTH, Impulse A-5, mono, orange label, gatefold cover with original artwork, RVG in dead wax.

Condition of record is E+, no scratches, some light inaudible scuffing, several spindle marks, plays clean & quiet. Jacket shows some overall wear, no seam splits.

Here is an original pressing of this 1961 classic, with the rarely seen original cover art. The all star band features Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Eric Dolphy (alto sax & flute), Oliver Nelson (alto & tenor saxes), George Barrow (bari sax), Bill Evans (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), Roy Haynes (drums). All of the compositions and arrangements are by Oliver Nelson.
The tunes are Stolen Moments, Hoe-Down, Cascades, Yearnin', Butch and Butch, Teenie's Blues.
