Description

Omega Red Star From Hungary UK 1968 LP Decca Records Catalogue Number LK 4974, Ultra Rare UK only 1st LP from the Hungarian Psych/Prog band better known as Omega, The story of the album is they played a concert in Budapest with The Spencer Davis Group & Traffic where Spencer Davis Group Manager John Martin is very impressed with them and arranges some UK Gigs, Martin then arranges a LP/Recording deal with Decca, They only recorded I believe for 3 days and without their normal lead singer who had to return to Hungary to complete his degree exams and Keyboard player and main Composer Gabor Presser taking over vocal duties. The Album is then issued with the Bands name changed to Omega Red Star, Some of the tracks on the LP were later re-recorded in Hungary and issued as singles, They did tour England again and were due to recorded another UK LP but were forced to return to Hungary for political reasons. Where they later became easily the most successful Hungarian Rock/Prog band of all time. This Ultra Rare Record almost never turns up for sale and when it has in the past it always been the Stereo Version this issue is a Original 1968 Mono issue and must lay claim to being the rarest version of their rarest LP!!! Sleeve EX- Record EX, P&P UK £5.00 via fully insured special delivery overseas at cost
