Condition assessment of the plates / condition 78rpm/grading chart:
N / M = new or not played / APPEARS UNPLAYED New or Mint. I do not offer this state actually, because no one can prove a unplayed condition. I begin with N-
N = almost as new / near mint ALMOST LIKE NEW
E = slight traces of use / Insignificant WEAR SHOULD PLAY cleanly, MINIMAL LITTLE SCUFFS. Most small Kratzerchens.
V = excessive wear / SCRATCHES & SCUFFS, PLAYS WITH MINOR NOISE enjoyably
G / P = very bad condition / Poor. Often due to a rare collectible labels.
A + or - indicates whether the drive is better or worse than the general condition.
- Or + is badness or better
Only optical condition.
l = easy / little
kl. = Small or tiny / little
Nl = pinhole / need single
Rs = edge damage / Rimbrocken (not going with me to the grooves., Far from the groove. Only a cosmetic problem. However, in rare label plates greater damage along with number of grooves are indicated)
W = Wavy
Hr. / Hc. = Hairline / hair crack (hairline cracks are fixed professionally and tear not further characterized and play well)
Kr = scratches / scuffs & scratches
The plates were purely visual rated the best of my knowledge and belief. Usually I go this in quite strict, so there will be no discrepancies.
As an additional service I offer to all of shellac records a protective sheathfree. So your plates are optimally protected from dirt and dust.
