Comes in a resealable plastic outer that has "The Original Source" hype sticker on its front. Matt finish dual pocket gatefold jacket, which inside has an image of Gulda with Abbado and images of recording documentation. The A4 size insert has details about 'The Original Source' series on one side and an image of the tape box for disc 1 on the other. Each LP is housed in a plain black poly-lined inner sleeve.

Liner notes on the back cover are in German, English and French.

This is the first time these recordings have been spread over 2 LPs.

In variant 2, the following last 2 characters are faintly inscribed "geometric" marks: side A '1⋀' and side D '2T' are mirrored; side C '1X' is inverted; side B something like '⅂Ø' although they are smaller and the first character's lines are extended to the top and to the right.
