Can I Get A Witness / Parchment Farm

Unknown Mod, Blues, R&B, Beat Combo from 1964?

45rpm 7" ACETATE

99p start price with NO RESERVE!

I have 100% positive feedback as a seller so please bid with confidence

Can I Get a Witness (misspelt here as "I Gotta Get a Whitness"?) was quickly becoming a standard in ’64 following Marvin Gaye’s release in 1963, with 1964 renditions being released by Steve Aldo, Dusty Springfield and obviously The Stones et al.

Duffy Power also recorded a demo of Parchment Farm for Parlophone in 1964, and The Rats released a version on Oriole the same year, so I would presume that in tandem with the other track that this demo was recorded in or around 1964? I could be wrong, but it's so mid 60's it hurts, and it's an OAK acetate, that I know for sure!

Please check out the MP3 sample clips from the actual demo in the picture links above!

Vinyl Condition:

Both sides have many noticeable cosmetic / superficial marks but they both play amazingly well, theres no sticking, jumps or skips, just some background crackle/surface noise, but have a listen for yourself, and please bear in mind this is just an MP3!

Labels:

As with most OAK acetates the track titles are written on both sides in biro (please see pictures), and unfortunately that is all we have to go on! I have no idea who these guys are, who they went on to be, or exactly when it was recorded, but if anyone can shed some light on when and who then please do let me know!

Sleeve:

Supplied in a brand new anti-static inner, paper sleeve and poly outer for protection

Packaging & Shipping:

Records are dutifully and carefully cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S3 cleaning machine before postage, and alongside the 3 new sleeves mentioned above, I only use heavy duty vinyl mailing envelopes for all my records

UK/EU Shipping is via Royal Mail tracked 48. International postage is handled by eBay directly, please see their postage quote for your location. If you want compensation cover over £150 then please just let me know before you pay, and we can find the best method of getting this safely to you.

I also have loads more records up for sale with most starting at 99p! with NO RESERVE (with more 60’s demos by unknown acts coming soon!) and I have thousands of more records to come so please check out my other items and add me as a favourite seller for first notice of new listings!

Thanks for looking and HAPPY BIDDING!!!
