Description

Here we have Ornette Coleman Double Quartet - Free Jazz which is a collective improvisation album by jazz luminaries of the time. An interesting recording, it captures the studio session in one uninterrupted take of 36 minutes and 23 seconds exactly as it was performed. This stereo version has Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, Scott LaFaro and Billy Higgins in the left channel, and Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell in the right album.
The matrix no. is ST A -61343 E PR/ 44
The record has been Degritter cleaned and the vinyl has come up spotless and very shiny with a few light paper marks and one fine hairline on Side 2 that does not affect playback whatsoever - see photos. We have graded EX.
This is superb quality in the room sound. Vibrant, clean and bold, the vinyl plays beautifully with a low noise floor.
The diecut gatefold sleeve is clean and sturdy but with laminate peel particularly to the lower LH front corner which has removed some of the word "STEREO". No writing, stains, tears or tape.
The original Atlantic printed inner sleeve is still present, however, we have decanted the record into a brand new poly lined sleeve to keep it pristine - you will receive both.
A lovely copy in super clean condition to own, play and enjoy.
We have taken lots of photos in good natural daylight so you can see exactly what you are buying. Please take a moment to look at the pictures as they form part of the description.
