(US CONTEMPORARY S7551– 1963 STEREO REISSUE PRESSING)

 

Debut album release from saxophonist Ornette Coleman originally released in 1958. Featuring Don Cherry and Billy Higgins, this album is an early example of ‘Free Jazz’. Considered controversial at the time, it is nonetheless a ground breaking record, and established Coleman as an important and significant figure in the burgeoning ‘modern jazz’ world.

Cover = VG (Unlaminated cover. Cover displays ringwear – record indentation from storage – small tear on top right of front cover. Some discolouration. Creasing around the edges too. Minor seam splitting)

Record = EX (Lovely sheen! Several feeble markings but no scratches or hairlines)

Black Contemporary Labels in Excellent Condition.

 

Original 1963 Contemporary Insert creased with tears on sides.
