Description
This mono album was purchased new and has been in my collection for more than 50 years. It has been frequently played , is in very good condition, with but a few only very faint surface marks. It plays perfectly. The outer, fully laminated sleeve is sound with four tiny cracks on the spine and four 16mm creases in the laminate at the front, lower RH corner. There is a small bruise and a 6mm split at the lower corner of the slot.
This recording presents Coleman, along with Don Cherry, shortly before the formation of his regular quartet which produced so many fine albums for Atlantic Records.
Side 1: Tomorrow is the Question (3.09), Tears Inside (5.00), Mind and Time (3.08), Compassion (4.37), Giggin` (3.19), Rejoicing (4.04). Percy Heath plays bass, Shelley Manne drums. Side 2: Lorraine (5.55), Turnaround (7.55), Endless (5.18). Red Mitchell replaces Heath. Recorded in Los Angeles between 16 Jan. & 10 March 1959.
