These Mercury Text Records albums are extremely rare, and it’s pretty special to have Orson Welles doing William Shakespeare’s 12th Night. Normally, the condition of this album would turn away collectors, but this is simply so hard to find and the spine can be reconnected. I don’t see many scratches, but these records are VERY dirty! They really should go through a professional record cleaning machine. I can’t wipe off the finger prints, which appear to be fifty years old or older! These may rate as VG+ or better after being cleaned, but the fingerprints and dirt make it hard to give a solid, permanent grading. But, again... this is such a rare recording, just owning it has been special! This is catalog number C-7, recorded in 1939.
