Description

"Other Alternatives," released on Sleepy Hollow in the U.K. in 1980. Super rare and utterly great local Humberside sampler of DIY/punk/artwave/folk acts, with six artists with two tracks apiece: Aunty Social, The Frame, Eamonn Holliday, S. Hinks, G. Moore, J. Lawson (even the artists' names are obscure). Every track is definitive, running the gamut from spiky punk to acid folk, moody minimal artwave, dubby postpunk, and Hepburns-style pre-C86 jangle. Great homemade-looking cut-and-paste photo sleeve, complete with the paper insert with photomontage of the artists and info on each track. Holy grail record for the period, and practically unknown. Vinyl in VG+ condition with variable static, several pops. Cover with some scattered light spotting, some ringwear, teeny tear to mouth, bottom seam just starting to open at bottom right tip. Please note my scanner cannot capture the entire breadth of the record cover.
