Description
This is an original, Very Rare, MONO vinyl copy of what is arguably Otis Redding's best album, Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul. This is on the VOLT Label (VOLT 412) and is in pristine condition.
Vinyl Condition: VG+++ to NM; Very clean with no fingerprints, scratches or skips. Vinyl looks and plays Like New! The vinyl is practically noiseless and the recording is spectacular. (I also own the remastered Sundazed recording [very nice!] but I like this original mono even more. Great depth and warmth.)
Sleeve Condition: VG+++ to NM (very small hole punch to denote cutout -- see photos) Upper corner has a very slight crease, hardly noticeable, and does not detract from overall condition. The back cover is nearly white with only a small area showing the slightest yellow aging. The classic front cover is still beautifully vibrant with no scratches, creases, or markings of any kind. The original Hype Sticker ("This LP Contains SATISFACTION") is still intact and undamaged. Seams are all tight and intact -- no splitting, fraying or wear. There is no writing and no marks of any kind. Not even ring-wear! Super Clean!
Label Condition: Original Yellow VOLT label. Near perfection! (see photos)
In all, this is a gorgeous copy that in no way shows its 50-year-old age! Honestly, I was shocked when I found this album in such great shape. It has held up far better than me!
"Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul" is truly a masterpiece, and one version or another belongs in every music lover's collection. Having a RARE original like this is the sweetest icing on the cake. You will be very pleased!
