Description
Offered here is Otis Redding's "Otis Redding Sings Soul", VOLT S-412. The following is etched in the dead wax" ST-VO-65733-C and "AT LW", and "W".
The LP, commonly referred to simply as "Otis Blue" is composed mainly of cover versions of contemporary R&B hits. The record is frequently included on lists of "greatest albums" including Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" (#78) and Time magazine's "All-Time 100 Greatest Albums" (#92). Recorded largely within the space of one day in July 1965, Redding was backed by the Stax house band, Booker T. & the M.G.'s, a horn section featuring members of the Mar-Keys and the Memphis Horns, and pianist Isaac Hayes,
Based on reference information on Discogs, the "AT" etched in runouts denotes lacquer cut made at Atlantic Studios, "LW" etched in runouts denotes metal parts made by Longwear Plating, and "W" etched in runouts denotes lacquer cut using an Audiodisc blank.
The vinyl is in beautiful, NM condition with great gloss and it appears that the record was lightly played. The former owner's name is neatly written in cursive on the side 2 label. Aside from a couple scrapes on the spine, the jacket is in very good condition. Please take a moment to view all of my photos and consider them as part of the description.
