Description

PALADIN - CHARGE!

Scarce and sparingly played UK 1972 1st press prog rocker with excellent stereo sound quality throughout

Year/Label : 1972 UK BRONZE Label number : ILPS-9190 Matrix numbers : ILPS 9190 A - 2U, ILPS 9190 B - 1 U Stampers :  1 L  / 2 L
Excellent (EX) condition vinyl - weighty, completely flat, retaining a beautiful jet black sheen, and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that a few small wispy hairlines and extremely light paper scuffs can be identified on each side - all non-feelable and appearing to be purely superficial as evidenced by the outstanding stereo sound quality.  The labels are in excellent (EX) condition - just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect.  The 1st press non-laminated Tinsley Robor outer gatefold sleeve is in very good plus (VG+) condition. The top and bottom edges remain firm with barely any scuffing at all - just the occasional small nick, the spine remains rigid with all spine text perfectly intact though there are a few nicks, a 1cm scuff about a third of the way up the spine, and a 1cm scuff at either end of the spine. Near perfectly defined right angled corners with mild rubbing on the spine corners only, firm opening edges with no fraying, no ring wear, no unwanted writing, and no cardboard creasing though there is an 18cm very, very light horizontal crinkle across the middle of the front side (see photo) which is very non-obvious and only noticeable when the sleeve is held at the right angle in the right light. You may come across just one or two further small and very light and non-obvious handling/storage marks but all of the fabulous Roger Dean art work, colours and text remain vibrant, well defined and beautifully intact with the inside of the gatefold hard to fault. Eminently presentable and hard to believe that this copy is 54 years of age. Truly excellent (or better) (EX) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks, background crackle (perhaps the odd nano-second of low level crackle during one or two of the intermissions) or interference - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with terrific sound quality throughout. Such an underrated album with every track a corker and "Good Lord" and "Watching The World Pass By" are both absolute belters of a rock gem! Searing guitar solos, fabulous organ solos, great bass and drums - a real gem of an album with every track a brilliant listen.  Comes with original excellent (EX) condition poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeve with no edge splits, barely any age discolouration, no top edge fraying, and some mild creasing in one corner). Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.
Scarce and increasingly sought after especially in such impressive condition as this, and the wonderful stereo sound quality remains a true highlight.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");

for continental Europe £12 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
