From my own vast private collection gathered over last 45+ years ...these mostly from 1973 - 1978 I had my own Record Store here in Northern California in the 1970's and 80's -and bringing in wonderfully vibrant and amazing Progressive Rock Imports was a top specialty and priority - I was (still am) so nuts about this music that I had 3 different evolving weekly Radio Programs dedicated to it over 20 years - and loved nothing more than turning folks on to these bands and immersing myself and my audience in these exotic sounds. Now it is finally time for me to pass them on - my hardest LPs to part with, some 8 boxes of which I shall be listing throughout this Spring. Many of the leading progenitors of the 1st progressive era, but quite a few more obscure but no less amazing artists of the period. . *Sadly I am NOT FAST at listing and can am lucky to get around 50 up at a time, but they will keep on coming (as I pause between series, to focus on top level packing and immediate shipping) so keep checking back.

Full gloss vinyl is extremely clean with faint sleeve hairlines visible in hard bright light. LP plays NM throughout. Labels are immaculate both sides.

COVER is VG+ (strong)
Soft, fragile matte cover is very vibrant and clean with very mild ring crescent at top, front; mere hint of ring crescents on back/inside gatefold. Seams and spine are solid all around with wear to bottom seam and a few small spots on spine. No splits.

PALADIN were formed in 1970 by drummer Keith Webb and keyboard player Pete Soley. Having toured with the ROLLING STONES as backing musicians, they decided the time was right to unleash their own creativity. Ex "WORLD OF OZ" bassist Peter Beckett, GLASS MENAGERIE/GRISBY DYKE keyboard player Lou Stonebridge, and GRISBY DYKE guitarist Derek Floey were brought in to complete the line up, the dual keyboards (including organ, electric piano and melotron) creating a unique sound.

"Paladin may only have ever released only two albums, but their second "Charge" is an absolute classic of early 70's  heavy melodic prog. There are many different styles and sounds on the album, yet the whole is nothing less than a coherent masterpiece. The Roger Dean sleeve may not be an absolute guarantee of quality, but Paladin sit well with their peers such as Yes, Uriah Heep, Asia, etc., whom Dean graced with his artwork. Charge! is a truly superb album, very much of its time, but still highly enjoyable. The band were destined to split before recording any further albums, but at least they went out on a high!"
